Exercise is vital to our health and well being. So is nutrition! If we exercise and ignore nutrition the results can be very discouraging. Exercise and nutrition go hand in hand.

Our Products In More Detail
Hammer Products only use ingredients which are beneficial in supplying the right energy ingredients for running. It sounds so simple, but it’s not quiet like that.
Too many Sports Nutrition Companies (like the major food Companies) make their products with added sugars, flavour’s, colourings and preservatives. Obviously this will sacrifice their performance.
Hammer Nutrition does not do this.
There are no added sugars, colourings, preservatives and flavours.
The basis of Hammer’s fuel is Powders or liquids for use during. Why, simply because they are easily digestible and quickly available for energy use.
Hammer Nutrition makes 4 products to be used by paddlers.
Hammer Gel
A complex carbohydrate gel containing 104 calories.
The benefit of using this is simple, it supplies a stream of consistent energy without the high’s and lows for a period of 35-45 minutes.
This is great to use to kick start your energy take a Hammer Gel
It’s not a great idea to eat prior, so a Hammer Gel 5-10 minutes prior to starting can provide an ideal supply
Endurance paddlers that paddle for periods of 1hour + and sometimes up to 3-4 hours would benefit greatly, by consuming gels at regular periods to ensure a constant supply of energy. Hence avoiding the ill fated crash often associated with long bouts of exercise.
H.E.E.D (High Energy Electrolyte Drink)
H.E.E.D often referred to as the ultimate sports drink.
Contains over 91% complex carbohydrates (No simple sugars), a full spectrum of Electrolytes.
Commercial sports drinks contain masses of simple sugars and all too few Electrolytes.
H.E.E.D uses only complex carbohydrates for extended energy without the highs and lows.
It also contains significant amounts, of potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium,Vitamin B6 and chromium. These electrolytes all play a significant role in ensuring proper metabolic function during exercise.
HEED, has minimal flavour making it easy to use. What a great change from those sickly sweet commercial sports drinks!
Paddlers would benefit from using this continually throughout long paddles (mix into your hydration pack with water ), and both prior to as a Carbo loader .
Not only would paddlers have better performance during their paddle, but recovery would also be better from receiving the correct nutrition.
Perpetuem
The Endurance athlete’s most valuable fuel designed for paddles over 3 hours and longer !
Containing a mixture of Complex Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins and electrolytes, it has been referred to by many as the most efficient fuel to use in any paddling event lasting over 2-3hours.
This combination of nutrients is able to stabilize blood sugars, allowing a constant long lasting supply of energy with no highs or lows.
The added protein has also been shown to stop the body breaking down its own muscle tissue. Whilst the added Chromium also helps stabilize blood sugars further. Tri basic phosphate can help buffer lactic acid build up.
No other source of fuel is necessary, so you don’t require solid foods!
Check the product packaging out for weight recommendations appropriate to you. Paddlers can mix their Perpetuem with water into a hydration bag and then have a separate bag with just water . It is important to sip your Perpetuem every 20-30mins and then wash down with a source of plain water.
Recoverite
Paddling is simply strenuous exercise.
The most neglected yet one of the most beneficial parts of any endurance paddling program is the Recovery.
Taking care of your Recovery means that when you wake up and want to do it again the next day, your paddling is so much better.
Why, because your body has a “window of opportunity”, usually no long than 1 hour after exercise(ideally with in 30 mins ), where it is most receptive to the replenishment of fuels used during training. Consuming the correct fuels during this crucial period means replenishes itself better and recovers faster.
This is one of the most fundamental parts of any paddling training program for the biggest improvement, yet one of the most neglected.
